Super Summer Stuff

I trust and believe that all this cold and snow will be soon be going away and we will finally be warm again.

And with summer, come some awesome opportunities:

SOS - Summer of Service
MMT - Musical Mission Tour
LOG - #74 at Bashor Home
L4G - Love•4•God and Lead•4•God

SOS 2013 - can you find the 30 LOGgers?
Join over 500 youth and adults from all around the Michiana area in a great weekend of service and fun.

This year's dates are June 12-15.  Team will begin meeting right after Easter.  More info available soon!

Many LOGgers have participated in past seasons of Musical Mission Tour (sponsored by Clay Church).  This year, Terry is going as the spiritual director for the tour and is encouraging LOGgers to get involved.

This year's show is "Into the Woods Jr." and the tour dates are June 15-23.  The tour travels to New York and performs the show for hospitals, churches, children's programs and other not-for-profits.  One of the last days is spent in New York City seeing a show and experiencing a special acting class.

Auditions are March 22 and 23 (during the LOG #72 weekend).  For more info, get in touch with Terry or check out www.musicalmissiontour.com.

LOG #74 will be June 27-29 and will be presented for the youth at Bashor Home - a residential facility in Goshen.  Team sign ups will begin in early April.

L•4•G #18 will take place in early August - with a double-whammy emphasis of on growing in our Love•4•God and our ability to Lead•4•God.

And - our friends from New Jersey might be coming over to join us again this year!

Why? Just Why?

You really want to know, don't you?
The answer is at the bottom - along with a few more photos.

But first - some important information ...

----

Please encourage your musically-talented friends to sign up for an audition for Michiana Youth Showcase.  Last audition date is Saturday, March 8th.

----

It's time to send your blessings for the participants and teams of the March LOG weekends.

We're going to try something new this time:

Please send one passage of Scripture or one quote / saying that is special to you and tell us briefly why it is the blessing you want to "give" to those of us at the LOG weekend.

Please try to be concise!

----

Now - why?  Just for fun!

Imagine covering your friend's face with shaving cream and then using a spoon to catapult popcorn puffs at your friend while he / she tries to catch them with his / her sticky face.

Sounds like a good time, huh?

The Art of Asking ...

When you want something, you ask for it - right?

Lauren wants a date with Slope-Style Olympian Nick Goepper and asked the LOG #71 team to help her create a video that would convince Nick to ask her out.  You can see the video here:  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_Mer4MzvLRg

And we want many people to sign up to attend the upcoming LOG weekends - right?

But each team only has 4-5 people signed up so far.  Maybe you are all asking the wrong way.

Here are some definite no-no's when it comes to asking friends to come to LOG...

Don't try to physically force them to sign up.

Don't tell them that we have "secret" signs and handshakes.

Don't growl at them when they say that they might be busy that weekend.

Don't try the super suave or flirty approach.

Don't threaten to beat them up if they say no.

And for heaven's sake, don't try to vampire approach.

Just greet them with a smile.

And maybe a hug (if appropriate).

And be sure to tell them all about the weekend (well almost everything) and why it is important to you.  Remember - there are no secrets, only surprises.

We're only a month away from the first of the three March LOG weekends.

Get busy - and ask!

Sing it, Jenae!

This is Jenae.

She is very talented.  I think this photo was taken as she was coming to the "big finish" on her solo piece she is working up for Michiana Youth Showcase.

If this is true, she should soon be signing up for her audition time on either Saturday, February 15 or Sunday, February 23.

Same for all of you talented folks ...

Please get your participants signed up and paid before the deadline so they get the discounted registration fee.
